Dear LCPS Families
Firstly, a big thank you to Mr McKinnon and all the staff who made Open Day such an amazing and fun morning, thank you also for allowing our very excited Principal for the day Vinny and our two Vice Principals for the day Harry and Stephanie to be involved in the day, they had such a great day.
The P&C Fun Run team had a busy week, first we had our volunteer information evening at The Diddy on Wednesday, thank you to all who attended the evening and put their hand up to help with our biggest fundraiser for our School, we then had a stall at Open Day on Thursday as well as the pleasure of presenting at assembly on Thursday and Friday followed by a stall at Blackman Park on Sunday morning for the AFL Lane Cove Cats Gala Day, thank you to Nina for the invite and support. I just want to acknowledge and give a big thank you to Lara and Renee for all your amazing hard work so far, this event is 100% organised by volunteers and the amount of time and effort Lara and Renee put in is huge. We are on track for a record attendance this year, but we need your help! There are still plenty of opportunities to help make the Run even bigger this year! This year we are doing a CREATIVE COMPETITION for the @lanecovefunrun ! Let’s show our excitement for our schools LARGEST fundraising event!!
CREATIVE COMPETITION
We are running a creative competition – Design a poster or write an article for the Lane Cove Fun Run – see poster attached for more details.
CLASS COMPETITION
We are running the class competition again this year. The first class to 50% of students entered in the run will get a certificate and be announced in assembly. Every class will then be announced after that when they get to 50%. (if you cannot make it on the day of the fun run you can still buy a ticket to support the the P&C …. or you can volunteer in the lead up of the race and we will give your child a TICK for registration)
Any class that has over 90% of the class entered in the run (By the assembly on the 25th August) will receive a sausage sizzle voucher for the Lane Cove Cats BBQ AND a special Lane Cove Fun Run prize at the fun run
Don’t forget the children can also wear their Fun Run T-shirts every Wednesday this Term! Shirts available through munchmonitor or instore at the uniform shop during opening hours.
We need you to help us make the Lane Cove Public School’s Cookbook 2023! This cookbook is one of our community events for the year and aims to be a celebration of our school community’s diversity and culture through a shared love for delicious food. The funds raised through the sale of this book will go towards the World Food Fair 2024. We are calling out to LCPS families to share one (or more) original recipe. Your recipe will be printed and bound in a beautiful book that we aim to sell to raise funds for the school. Father’s Day BBQ
Please help us celebrate the awesome Dads in our lives and thank them for all the things they do for their family every day by coming to the Father’s Day BBQ before school drop off on Friday, 1 September.
Ditch the usual cereal and enjoy FREE sausage sizzles and muffins for Dads, and yummy items for sale for everyone else.
We are also looking for volunteers to help cook the BBQ, make and handout coffee and hot chocolates, and sell food and raffle tickets. It’s an early start but a great way to contribute to the school in one morning and make a lot of Dads (and kids) smile.
We are also seeking expressions of interest for a P&C Music liaison as well as a Christmas Tree fundraiser liaison, both fun and exciting ways to get involved in the P&C and School. Please reach out to me for more information if you are interested in any volunteer opportunities.
