Today is P&C Day. Every year P&Cs across NSW volunteer countless hours to make important contributions to their schools and communities. There is so much about public education that is made possible by P&Cs. No where is this more evident than at Lane Cove Public School. Lane Cove Public School is so fortunate to have such a committed and enthusiastic P&C who are supported so well by the many volunteers from the community.
The P&C manage vital services such as the School Canteen, Uniform Shop and music instrument hire while at the same time organising working bees, fundraising and community building events. Events such as the Fun Run and trivia nights raise significant funds for the school.
Last year alone, the P&C donated $130K from these fund-raising events to the school, to assist with learning support programs and new technology in the form of laptops and interactive screens for the school. Events such as the Welcome BBQ and World Food Fair were hugely popular, bringing the community together, building cohesion and providing enjoyment.
On behalf of the school community, I thank the P&C and their team of volunteers for their ongoing and generous support of the school. They are an essential partner in ensuring Lane Cove Public School is the great school it is.
